Description:

Design Assurance Engineers perform technical and administrative engineering tasks to help ensure Spirit programs comply with documented Company policies and processes and meets regulatory, customer and industry requirements. They plan, facilitate and track internal program audits, coordinate with programs to close out audit findings and provide support to development or revision of Company policies and procedures at an enterprise level.

Design Assurance Engineers understand requirements from industry standards, such as AS9100D, and evaluate program compliance to these requirements. Deficiencies and best practices are communicated to programs and implementation plans documented and tracked through closure. As a result, ability to communicate in a detailed but tactful manner with program personnel at all levels is required.

Design Assurance Engineers maintain current knowledge of Company policies and procedures, and as required may update these documents for continued compliance to requirements, for incorporation of best practices and lessons learned or for changes in related Company processes. They are also familiar with Regulatory, Customer and Industry requirements and maintain current knowledge of these.

Responsibilities

Role and Responsibilities:

· Participate or lead independent internal audit of programs for compliance with documented policies and processes (or for documented evidence of exceptions to these).

· Develop and maintain records of conducted audits and communicate these to appropriate program and Design Assurance personnel.

· Prepare program audit metrics including compliance level, observations, findings, action item closure, etc.

· Prepare or revise Company policy and process (EQMS) documents to maintain compliance to Spirit, Regulatory, Customer and Industry requirements.

· Participate in lessons learned and root cause corrective action activities.

· Communicate audit items with appropriate program personnel to ensure successful closeout of issues and actions following each audit.

· Provide support to program audits performed by Regulatory/Customer/Industry entities.

· Maintain currency for Spirit policies and processes as well as Regulatory/Customer/Industry requirements.

Qualifications

Role and Responsibilities:

· Bachelors degree from an ABET accredited program with 0-2 years of relevant experience

· Participate or lead independent internal audit of programs for compliance with documented policies and processes (or for documented evidence of exceptions to these).

· Develop and maintain records of conducted audits and communicate these to appropriate program and Design Assurance personnel.

· Prepare program audit metrics including compliance level, observations, findings, action item closure, etc.

· Prepare or revise Company policy and process (EQMS) documents to maintain compliance to Spirit, Regulatory, Customer and Industry requirements.
