Aston Carter Contract Specialist in Wichita, Kansas

Description:

General Responsibilities:

• A successful candidate will demonstrate critical thinking skills and a sense of urgency to resolve complex problems. They will have the ability to multitask and prioritize many tasks simultaneously minimizing delays and driving results. They will also perform with autonomy and exercise good judgment in determining objectives and approaches to their assigned actions.

• Candidate will interface with both internal and external customers at various levels and functions on a regular basis providing contractual support and guidance.

• Candidate will regularly interface with Department of Defense (DoD), industry prime customers, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA).

• As required, candidate will support and help with business and/or accounting audits.

RFP/RFQ Proposal Management:

• Candidate will assist and provide support with both USG and non-USG RFP/RFQ proposal development and submittal. This includes knowledge of handling and submitting compliant Certified Cost or Pricing Data proposals.

• Candidate will be expected to assist their business team in developing risk reduction analysis to ensure proposal risks are adequately mitigated through the use of clearly defined proposal ground rules and assumptions and/or other means.

Contract Execution:

• Candidate will lead and oversee the review of NDA’s, teaming/collaboration agreements, and general terms with various internal subject matter experts and business leaders. They will work with the business team and customer to negotiate the most favorable contractual terms for Spirit.

• Candidate will support the business in safeguarding its intellectual property and proprietary information.

• Candidate will have delegation authority assigned by the enterprise to make contractual commitments on behalf of Spirit.

• Candidate will oversee a book of work to include management of new orders, amended orders, and closeout orders. All order activity is to be processed in a timely manner to support the business, and are in accordance with company policies and USG accounting/contract standards.

• Candidate will assist with the review, approval, and submittal of invoices to ensure timely payments. They will serve as an escalation point to help resolve any past due or late payments, helping the company meet its financial commitments.

• A successful candidate will be well connected to order funding limits and internal expense projections. They will proactively work with the customer to secure necessary funding throughout the life of the contract.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Use of Excel to model, manipulate, and analyze data with formulas, Pivot tables, Power Pivot, or other like tools.

• Experience working in Aerospace in support of development or production programs.

• Experience working with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).

• Candidate currently possesses a DoD Secret Clearance.

• Experience as a mentor and guiding less experienced personnel.
