The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible for Financial, Support, and Quality Assurance departments of Montana State Hospital (MSH) which include financial oversight, policy development, quality assurance, and physical plant operations. This position ensures the effective and efficient flow of day-to-day operations and services within these internal divisions. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * * Knowledge of financial, human resource, quality assurance, and facility maintenance principles and practices. * Ability to be understanding and remain non-confrontational, while maintaining focus, demeanor, and composure in dealing with individuals with differing points of view. * Strong oral and written presentation skills. * Knowledge of best practices and current industry standards in facility operations with an emphasis in human relations and fiscal budgetary operations * Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Human Relations, or related field. o Five years of progressive responsible facility level experience in financial management, leadership, or business operations. o Three years’ experience managing complex facility programs or systems. o A combination of years of managerial experience and related education may be considered in lieu of degree requirements on a case-by-case basis. * Preferred qualifications: o Management experience to include direct supervision, organization, or oversight of facility / hospital level programs which may include health care, acute inpatient treatment, mental health programming, co-occurring disorders, quality improvement programs, regulatory compliance, fiscal oversight, and physical plant operations. * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
