Josiah White's First Aid Assistant / Medical Coordinator in Wabash, Indiana

A Christian with strong convictions who is also in agreement with Whites mission statement, Statement of Faith, and Code of Conduct. This position will be working with and transporting male youth to appointments and taking care of all medical needs and appointments.This person must have an interest in medicine and desire to work in the medical field. He must be sensitive and able to discern a students medical needs. This individual must be a team player who works well with a wide variety of people. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be an LPN, Medical Assistant, Paramedic or EMT. One to three years relevant experience is preferred. Must be able to work autonomously, must be able to prioritize, must be flexible, and must be able to manage the medical needs of students. Reports to: Campus Nurse and First Aid Supervisor *Job Summary: To ensure that each of Josiah Whites residential students/Residential and Recovery Services students has his or her total health care needs met in an efficient and practical manner. Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service populations Culture and socioeconomic characteristics and needs. *Basic Responsibilities**

Maintain accurate medical records on each student.

Organize dentist trips and obtain transporters for dental trips, will also Transport.

Prepare electronic med clinic records prior to Med clinic on Tuesdays. Prepare and collect data for each student.

Obtain current vital signs for students being seen for med

clinics

.

Scan monthly MARS and pain sheets into electronic medical records

Assess minor illnesses and injuries and administer First aid.

Learn computerized software, document all medical, dental,

vision

, and health care notes.

Obtain medical history, make calls to obtain previous medical, dental and vision records.

Administer student TB tests.

Communicate with medical doctors,

nurses

, staff members, and students.

Assist nurses, doctors, and Nurse Practitioners during visits on campus

Case manage prescriptions and medical supplies when needed

Conduct initial intake medical screenings with new students, which includes collecting medical history, showing and documenting nutritional video and sexual heal
