Job Description:

We’re looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Information Systems team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected to provide support for US business systems. The successful applicant must possess a good understanding of business process workflows, conducting functional testing support, handling defects, and performing root cause analysis in support of solutions of various US insurance applications. The role includes the ability to collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, delivery leads, actual users from the business during the user acceptance testing phase, including an analytical skillset to visualize, articulate, and solve problems and make decisions that are sensible and based on available information. Sufficient knowledge of business process workflows is required to effectively lead, coordinate, implement and provide solutions for projects, initiatives, issue resolutions, with an end-to-end knowledge of business systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test design, test case development and test execution for assigned user stories working on a scrum agile squad

  • Liaise with value stream key stakeholders, including product owners, delivery leads, business users, in providing resolution to reported defects, analyze business process workflows and support root cause analysis or participate in working session where applicable

  • Maintain consistent processes and templates, documentation and audit requirements, and testing tools and strategies

  • Engaging on and challenging requirements while designing and supporting test solutions based on technical knowledge of applications

  • Support a wide variety of systems from a quality engineering perspective

  • Environment issues triage and resolution management

  • Remain current on industry quality engineering standards, technologies, approaches, and methodologies

  • Consistently apply the concept of continuous quality engineering and/or agile process improvement

  • Support user acceptance testing

  • Provide extended hours support when required

Qualifications:

  • High School/Senior High/Vocational Course/1-year completed in a Bachelor's program with relevant work experience of at least 2 years; Bachelor's Degree holders are welcome to apply

  • Candidate must have at least 2 - 3 years of experience as a business systems or quality engineer or any other related IT engineering discipline.

  • Ability to set up and run automated testing (or willingness to upskill within 6 months)

  • College/University graduate (Computer Science or related discipline is preferred) or with previous related work experience

  • Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and business functions

  • Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication (oral and written) skills to work with technical and non-technical audiences

  • Results-oriented, high energy, and self-motivated

  • Good problem-solving abilities and analytical skills

  • Collaborative attitude, willingness to work with team members; able to participate in agile ceremonies, share skills and methods

  • Ability to work EST hours, 8:00am – 5:00pm

  • Insurance industry knowledge preferred but not required

  • Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation)

  • Shift Schedule (Night 8:00 PM-5:00 AM PHT or 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM PHT): Amenability to work on the assigned schedule (dependent on business need)

  • Minimum Skills to Hire/Must Haves:

  • Agile Platforms JIRA or Rally

  • Selenium Webdriver, Eclipse, GitHub(or other automation scripting tools or willingness to upskill within 6 months)

  • Build management and integration tool, such as Team City Microsoft Office Tools
