Position Summary...

What you'll do...

It's an exciting time to join our Walmart journey, we are seeking a Staff MLOps Data

Scientist. At Walmart, technology empowers us and people to lead. We believe new

working on future-looking initiatives that are targeted at improving in-store customer

experience for the 240+ million Walmart customers that shop at our stores. The mission is

to create step change in-store experiences, leveraging emerging technology to help define

and deliver evolving customer expectations. Its success requires a cross-functional, mission-

based team that is highly entrepreneurial, collaborative, and passionate about solving

unsolved problems.

As an MLOps Data Scientist, you will be a key player in developing and maintaining our

machine learning infrastructure and data platform ensuring the smooth integration of

models into our production environment. Your role involves collaborating closely with

Computer Vision data scientists, software engineers, and DevOps teams to optimize the end-

to-end machine learning lifecycle. From implementing model performance improvement

strategies to troubleshooting issues in machine learning pipelines, your contributions will be

crucial to the efficiency and reliability of our ML operations

You'll make an impact by...

• Deploying and monitoring machine learning models for production environments.

• Building CV data pipelines, ensuring that data is easily accessible, updatable,

reusable.

• Develop strategies to optimize the annotation process, minimizing the need for

labeling large amounts of data.

• Enhance model performance by selecting the most informative data for annotation

and training.

• Providing expertise and guidance on all technical aspects of development, including

requirements, design, and implementation.

• Ensuring engineering and computer vision best practices, so that the team follows a

structured and efficient approach to their projects.

What you'll do...

• Build a scalable and extensive ML data platform that can support multiple forms of

data and support the scalability of computer vision models.

• Pioneer novel software systems for the rapidly growing field of data-centric AI. The

platform has several tools that automatically find & fix issues in datasets.

• Build curated data sets with auto ML and active learning capabilities.

• Innovate with feedback loops and human-in-the-loop processes to continuously refine

our systems to better meet product needs.

• Develop and implement robust model drift monitoring capabilities to ensure the

continued accuracy of deployed models.

• Collaborate with data scientists and data engineers to address drift-related

challenges.

• Implement and manage ML Ops practices to streamline the machine learning

development lifecycle.

• Provide mentorship to more junior members of the team.

• Stay ahead of the curve by keeping abreast of the latest technological

advancements, ensuring our solutions stay ahead of the curve.

You'll sweep us off our feet if...

7+ years machine learning experience, PhD or MA/MS in related Computer Science,

Computer Engineering or equivalent, OR 5+ years industry experience

• Experience leading projects with industry-wide impact.

• Significant experience in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, deep

learning, computer vision.

• Significant experience with advanced data pipeline, preferable with video or images

• Significant experience in programming languages with a technical background

• You are a team player - that is, you're a nice person - see no ego.

• Highly motivated and independent; good at prioritization and results oriented.

• A self-learner: ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it

to business needs, integrate multiple tools together to solve business problems.

• Proficient in scripting and automation with an emphasis on integration.

• Experience in shipping computer vision products to thousands of customers or have

started a new line of products.

• Experience with complex image or video analytic pipelines.

• Expertise in machine learning development life cycle.

• Experience in some of the following fields: computer vision (object detection,

tracking, scene understanding), machine learning.

Hoboken, New Jersey US-10649:The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00-$264,000.00

Sunnyvale, California US-08479:The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
