Your Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of underground mining studies ranging in level of detail
Provide technical mine planning support and direction to Junior/Intermediate Engineers and Technologists
Support due diligence and technical audits
Author technical reports
Act as peer reviewer of drawings, specifications, mine planning, and technical reports
Provide support to business development pursuits and authoring of proposals as required
Support the development of capital and operating cost estimates
Lead project teams performing trade-off and optimization studies including but not limited to mine access, material handling, ventilation, and fleet electrification
Domestic and International travel with the possibility of extended stays may be required.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Ability to act as a Qualified Person for NI 43-101 compliant studies
Strong understanding of various underground mining methods and mine systems
Experience with implementation of new technologies
Proficiency in CAD based mine design applications
Proficiency in compiling and presenting data (PowerBI, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong communication and critical thinking skills
Experience in directing Junior/Intermediate level Engineering support
Be a driver of a safety and promote a positive work culture
Education and Experience
8 years of relevant industry experience
Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution
Professional Engineer designation in good standing
Operations experience in underground hard rock mining considered an asset
Experience with Deswik mine planning applications considered a strong asset
Typical office environment working with computers. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
