Paul Reed Smith Guitars, one of the worlds premier guitar and amplifier manufacturers located in Stevensville, MD is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the full-time position of Manufacturing Engineer

Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing factory improvements and efficiency projects using up to date automation and robotic technologies for new and existing processes. This is a hands-on role that will support the manufacturing processes by driving the attainment of goals working with manufacturing management, maintenance, and other departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer

• Support, participate and perform commissioning duties of equipment as needed, including system validation, system training and documentation. Provide troubleshooting support of systems as needed.
• Support process equipment and facility engineering, design, integration, documentation specification and validation
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
• Responsible for designing and implementing production jigs and fixtures and machinery for the manufacturing of guitar parts.
• Assembling of mechanical equipment. Install new equipment to meet production and quality requirements.
• Creation of documentation and preventive maintenance plans. Define new work instructions for the operators.
• Recommends / implements Lean project improvements for reducing material waste and worker efficiency.
• Prepares detailed equipment specifications.
• Manages new capital purchases as needed.

Experience Requirements and Competenciesfor the Manufacturing Engineer

• Bachelors (BA/BS) in Engineering/Automation preferred
• 2-4 years of manufacturing engineering experience or 4-6 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Robotic experience with Fanuc, Universal or other brands a plus
• PLC programming experience
• Solid Project management skills
• Proficient in Solidworks 3D modeling for project design and development
• Good understanding of lean manufacturing concept, automation, and technology trends
• Strong ability to work in teams.
• Analytical approach to problem solving capability, ownership, never give up attitude.
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Highly effective and persuasive communication skills
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and across the company.
• High attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Able to meet deadlines.
• Positive attitude, constantly raising the performance bar, being proactive.
• Hands on approach. Willingness to roll up sleeves and dig into projects.
