Supervisor, Automation & Controls Technicians at SpaceX

SUPERVISOR, AUTOMATION & CONTROLS TECHNICIANS - STARSHIP

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise a group of specialists and technicians to complete small and large scale automation system projects

  • Provide mentorship to team and assist with design decisions, project strategies and technical problems

  • Supervise a team that provides round the clock production support and breakdown support on critical assets throughout the Starbase facility

  • Plan resource allocation for projects based on scope of work, and resource balance projects with contractors as required

  • Manage and maintain automation & control systems

  • Provide technical support and guidance for controls technicians and other non-controls engineering groups

  • Develop new hardware and processes to improve capabilities, cost, and setup time of electrical systems

  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

  • Accomplish production results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results

  • Ensure employees have the training, tools and materials they need to carry out their duties

  • Provide required data and reporting to support departmental metrics and improvement objectives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate

  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership position

  • 2+ years of experience working with data acquisition systems

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 4+ years of SpaceX experience

  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety), NFPA 79 & UL508A codes

  • Occupational trade school qualification in an electrical based field

  • Demonstrable hands-on skill in fault finding, problem resolution

  • Strong communication skills both written and oral

  • Ability to bring multiple departments with different priorities together and support them in achieving common goals

  • Strong, working knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety), NFPA 79 & UL508A codes

  • PLC & HMI programming experience

  • Industrial machine networking experience

  • Electrical schematic drawing experience

  • Excellent skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, able to lead/supervise a team

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Pay range:

Supervisor: $105,000.00 - $135,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
