LMI Aerospace Tax Manager in St. Charles, Missouri

POSITION SUMMARY

Seeking a Tax Manager responsible for income, property, sales and use, and other similar types of tax compliance and incentives while supporting other corporate accounting and financial reporting projects. While performing all duties and responsibilities, the Tax Manager will always, model Sonaca North America values and principles and act in a manner consistent with the Sonaca North America Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process accurate and timely submissions of

  • All necessary federal and state income, franchise tax returns, extensions, payments, etc.

  • All property tax returns

  • All sales & use tax returns, and exemption certificates

  • Annual business registrations

  • Tax incentive program identification, enrollment, and compliance

  • Year-end corporate Tax Provision and Footnote for Financial Reporting

  • Assist with payroll taxes handled by Payroll Manager and ADP externally

  • Provide daily and weekly cashflow projections and actuals in support of treasury function

  • Approve certain treasury transaction including borrowings and repayments on revolvers

  • Request factoring amounts from two large customers as needed

  • Approve daily ACH’s and wires

  • Identify and process relative income tax credits and tax savings strategies

  • Ensure tax depreciation in fixed asset ledgers is accurately maintained and look for opportunities to minimize property and other asset-based taxes

  • Advise on tax implications related to capital projects and ensure accuracy of fixed asset records

  • Follow industry trends and track changes related to taxes

  • Research, study and interpret related tax law changes

  • Educate and provide continuous support for Sales & Use Tax guidance

  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts related to tax accruals, provisions, expense, etc.

  • Provide tax support for other ad hoc financial reporting projects

  • Handle requests from external auditors and outside consultants assisting in our tax compliance

  • Lead and/or participate in a variety of special projects and improvement teams as needed

Travel Required: 10%

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, or a tax concentration within an accounting program. Minimum of three (3) years of related tax experience is required and 5 years is preferred, including current knowledge of accounting standards and practices associated with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) compliance and general statutory requirements.

  • Employee must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, and have ability to learn local ERP systems, online tax programs and consolidated reporting software. Sonaca North America software systems include: SAP, Global Shop, Jobscope, E2, Epicor, Platinum, FRx Reporting, FAS, Adaptive, etc.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and shifting time requirements.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical materials and governmental regulations

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, work instructions and procedure manuals

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, employees and vendors

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to compile and present data in a format that facilitates information sharing and decision making

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, accounting and financial calculations and projections.
