Amazon International Tax Manager, Prime Video Tax in Seattle, Washington

Description

The Prime Video Tax Team is seeking an International Tax Manager to focus on U.S. international tax planning for both new and on-going business launches and initiatives.

Prime Video is Amazon’s premium video content service that offers customers access to thousands of movies, television series, and sports - all with the ease of finding what they love to watch in one place. This includes premium Original programming such as Jack Ryan, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Rings of Power, Jury Duty, Air; coveted sports properties such as Thursday Night Football and English Premier League; the ability to sign up to channels from third party partners such as HBO Max, Paramount Plus, and Starz; and the flexibility to purchase or rent movies and television episodes not already included in your Prime Video subscription.

This role will be part of a team that works closely with business teams and liaises with finance, accounting, legal, and operational technology teams to align on tax-efficient approaches to business transactions, expansions, restructurings, and commercial deals.

A successful candidate will be comfortable working with business teams, obtaining tax subject matter input when needed, and ensuring the coordination and execution of cross-functional tax solutions in a scalable manner. Since this is a business-facing role, you will effectively communicate (verbal and written) to be able to explain complex tax concepts in ways that are understandable and useful to non-tax professionals.

While this position is not directly involved in tax compliance, it is responsible for delivering the planning, coordination, and communication of tax-related aspects of projects. This includes creating and maintaining the appropriate level of documentation to support reporting and compliance functions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

  • Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department

Preferred Qualifications

  • J.D., or CPA

  • An understanding of or practical experience with tax laws in other countries

  • Strong technical writing and tax research skills

  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex tax laws in a business setting

  • Ability to be comfortable working within ambiguity, whether in fact or law or both

  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $76,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $172,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
