System One D&D Construction Superintendent in San Clemente, California

System One is looking for an experienced nuclear construction superintendent for a long-term decommissioning project in San Clemente, CA. This Superintendent will oversee diamond wire saw cutting of piping systems for Large Components and Reactor Vessel.

D&D Construction Superintendent (CS)

A. Responsible for the day-to-day industrial and radiological safety of the work crews while performing field activities.

B. Ensures daily preparations for activities include detailed Pre-Job Briefs and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)of the assigned field activities are delivered to field implementation personnel.

C. Ensures field activities can be executed in accordance with;

1) The schedule;

2) Work process documents (e.g., work packages, facility requests);

3) Job Hazard Analyses;

4) Pre-Job Briefs; and

5) The worker's skills (i.e., proficiency in performance of the required work activities).

D. Responsible for reviewing and understanding the scheduled activities prior to the job activity, following the schedule for the specific job activities, and knowing who to hand off to for the follow-up activities associated with this job, and understand the schedule values earned by job completion.

E. Ensures for Significant and First-Time Evolution there is ample preparations, discussions with experienced personnel, and considerations given for mockup training and table-top challenges where possible for these evolutions.

F. Ensures the foreman and work crews are familiar with and are using common Human Performance Tools including the STAR principle, work package place keeping, and performing job-site reviews before beginning work.

G. Responsible for the completion of a post-job critique, capture of activity lessons learned, and work package closeout.

H. Implements the use of Safety observation cards and craft feedback process during the execution of field activities.

I. Performs and documents supervisor inspection.

J. Ensures vendor programs approved for use are followed.

K. Ensures that the foreman, when assigning work to personnel, considers if the craft personnel arc new to the SONGS site (less than 30 days). If the craft personnel are less than 30 days, then the foreman should pair up the new person with a seasoned employee to provide mentoring regarding site procedures, programs, and the work being performed.

L. Physical Actions – This position includes intense physical activity including but not limited to the following:

1) Bending, Climbing (up and down scaffolding, scaffold ladders and staircases), Reaching, Crouching, Squatting, Lifting up to 50 lbs., Standing, Sitting, Walking.

M. Must be to read and understand a schedule.

N. Must be well versed in construction tooling/equipment, cutting operations (i.e.: Oxy/Acetylene cutting, Plasma arc cutting, Oxylance, etc.) and rigging activities.

O. Must be willing and able to wear respiratory protection such as a PAPR or respirator.
