MMI Engineered Solutions Quality Engineer in Saline, Michigan

The Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence by providing technical, clerical, and EMS audit support to our quality operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assembling, submitting, and achieving on-time approval of PPAP packages/workbooks.
  • Creating and updating Process Flow, PFMEA, and Control Plan for both new and existing products, including securing IMDS approvals and coordinating other PPAP-related documentation.
  • Reviewing and establishing the feasibility of Customer Specifications/Standards and print GD&T.
  • Developing product testing/inspection methods and coordinating associated gauge/test-fixture development.
  • Creating Gage Instructions, Inspection Check Sheets, and Quality Guides.
  • Reviewing and driving improvement of Process Books and Work Instructions in collaboration with Process, Manufacturing, and Application Engineers.
  • Facilitating and leading training sessions for production team members.
  • Ensuring document and records control.
  • Developing, maintaining, and applying Lessons Learned from effective Safe Launch implementation to drive Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitating, developing, tracking implementation of, and auditing Corrective and Preventive Action reports as needed.
  • Participating in and supporting Customer and Supplier visits, audits, and other launch-related meetings.
  • Maintaining regular and prompt attendance, demonstrating professionalism and respect in all interactions with clients and coworkers.
  • Willingness to work overtime and rotating shifts as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control, preferably in the North American Automotive Industry.

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering, Packaging, or equivalent experience.

Demonstrated expertise in:

PPAP submissions and approvals in a fast-paced production environment.

APQP.

GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

PFMEA and Control Plan development and writing.

Check-fixture/Gage development and build.

Work and gauge instructions development and writing.

MSA/Gage R & R, including Planning, Organizing, Performing, Analyzing, and Reporting.
