Jenoptik Controls Engineer in Rochester Hills, Michigan

SUMMARY:

The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, modifying and implementing hardware and software programming applications. Supports applications and participates in testing and review of systems. Works closely with Mechanical Engineers, Manufacturing and Project management to execute the controls content on assigned projects.

RESPONSIBILIITIES (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
  • Develop electrical and pneumatic schematics using AutoCAD software
  • Create electrical and pneumatic BOM using Excel
  • Create PLC software and HMI designs following customer specifications
  • Understanding of communication networks (Ethernet IP, Profinet, etc.)
  • Must be proficient in Allen Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens software
  • Support startup commissioning and debug of equipment
  • Review design to ensure customer specifications are being followed
  • Travel to end user for final installation commissioning
  • Production support at customer facility
  • Ability to travel for business both domestically and internationally
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors or Associates degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
