Bowery Residents Committee Assistant Director (Operations) - 112-18 Astoria Boulevard in Queens, New York

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage day-to-day operational activities and overall safety of the facility, including shared supervision of facility manager. Supervise shift supervisors, food handlers, and other assigned staff. Create enforce and maintain facility procedures, including streamlining all related processes and ensuring timely completion of work orders. Maintain an adequate staffing pattern 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Ensure operations staff are maintaining a safe environment by personally conducting regular rounds, engaging clients, and addressing the varied needs of individuals experiencing homelessness. Ensure compliance with DHS, OTDA, and NYFD mandates. Oversee inventory and coordinate ordering and distribution of operational and maintenance supplies. Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed. On-call responsibilities. Related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED required, however a BA is preferred. Requires at least three years of experience directly supervising staff and managing residential facilities, with one of those years working with individuals experiencing homelessness. Effectively communicate with others both in writing and orally; computer proficiency required. Must have the ability to work in a high stress/ high volume environment, while maintaining open communications with other components of treatment and operational teams. Bilingual abilities a plus. NYC Fire Safety Coordinator Certification, CPR Certification a plus or a willingness and ability to pass tests to acquire Fire Safety certification and First Aid/CPR certification.
