Robert Half HIMS Coordinator in Pleasanton, California

Description

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a HIMS Coordinator. As a HIMS Coordinator, you will play a vital role in our Health Information Management Services department, performing a range of clerical activities related to medical records and release of information. Under general supervision, you will apply specialized knowledge of HIMS procedures, hospital organization, and medical terminology to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and Title 22 standards regarding chart completion.

  • Adhere to State and Federal laws governing confidential patient information and release requirements.

  • Utilize experience gained in clinic, hospital, or office settings to effectively carry out duties.

  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills when interacting with patients and staff.

  • Proficiently operate standard office equipment, including computers, scanners, fax machines, telephones, and copiers.

Key Skills:

  • Prepare, scan, index, and perform quality assurance on paper documents.

  • Conduct electronic document scanning, indexing, and quality assurance.

  • Analyze charts for physician documentation purposes.

  • Facilitate the release of patient information in accordance with established protocols.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in Health Information Management preferred.

  • Proven experience in a related healthcare setting.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and solve complex clerical issues with sound judgment.
