How will you make an impact in this role?

Business Unit Financial Planning & Analysis (BU FP&A) in Corporate Planning was established to optimize financial planning and analysis activities across American Express. The Planning Transformation team within BU FP&A is primarily responsible for designing and implementing transformation to the AXP Planning processes (Annual Plan, R&O and Long-Range Plan).

The Financial Systems Analyst role in the Planning Transformation function will work closely with Corporate Planning and Capability Development teams to streamline, automate, and enhance the Planning processes. The incumbent will provide thought leadership, drive delivery of capabilities and operationalize process cadence and hand-offs.

  • Collaborate with process owners to identify planning needs, automation/modernization opportunities and work with the Capability Development team to bring functional requirements to life

  • Translate product roadmaps into well-defined requirements/user stories and acceptance test criteria

  • Manage ongoing project plans and coordinate across multiple stakeholders

  • Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts to ensure proper development

  • Partner with BU FP&A teams to lead training, communication, and change management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AXP Finance and business economics

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • History of transformational thinking and process improvement

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with comfort presenting to varying audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of financial planning and reporting processes and tools (mainly TM1 & Oracle)

  • Strong collaboration skills – ability to navigate across teams to deliver on shared objectives

  • Curiosity to ask the right questions, assess tradeoffs and risks, gain buy-in, and make informed decisions

  • Must have a high degree of initiative, integrity, dedication, ability to adapt effectively in a changing environment and comfortable in dealing with ambiguity

Qualifications

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits
