Job Description

DUTIES: Design and develop new software and web applications using Core Java; perform automated unit, integration, performance, and failure testing using Junit, Mockito, PowerMockito, Karate, and Jmeter; develop and deploy projects in AWS; use Spring framework to build services; develop scripts for CI/CD using Jenkins and Concourse; design and develop containerized, cloud-based microservices; triage, troubleshoot, debug, and provide support of large-scale applications in production within a DevOps environment; write scripts using Python and Shell scripting; work with operational visibility tools including Datadog, Splunk, and ELK; work within Linux OS; use network protocols including UDP, TCP/IP, and HTTP; develop RESTful APIs; develop and collaborate on projects using versioning tools including Git; perform package management using Maven and Gradle; build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Cloud Formation; support applications under development and customize current applications; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and two (2) years of experience developing software using Core Java; performing automated unit, integration, performance, and failure testing using Junit, Mockito, PowerMockito, Karate, and Jmeter; developing and deploying projects in AWS; building services using Spring framework; of which one (1) year includes developing scripts for CI/CD using Jenkins and Concourse; designing and developing containerized, cloud-based microservices; triaging, troubleshooting, debugging, and supporting applications in a DevOps environment; writing scripts using Python and Shell scripting; working with operational visibility tools including Datadog, Splunk, and ELK; working within Linux OS; using network protocols including UDP, TCP/IP, and HTTP; developing RESTful APIs; developing and collaborating on projects using Git; performing package management using Maven or Gradle; and building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Cloud Formation.
