Join us as the School of the Arts Executive Director of Productions and Events & Production Services (EPS) at the innovative Noorda Center for the Performing Arts at Utah Valley University! Collaborating with the Dean of the School of the Arts (SOA), you'll define the programmatic vision and business plan while creating unforgettable events that propel the mission and strategic priorities of the SOA and UVU forward. From curating and programming the Noorda Series (UVU's national/international presenting series) to managing the Academic Season, you'll oversee every aspect of venue stewardship and operations while driving artistic excellence, community relations, and patron experience.As the SOA Assistant Dean/Executive Director of Productions and Events & Production Services (EPS), you'll be at the helm of financial management, operational oversight, and resource allocation for the SOA EPS team and the Noorda Center facility. This entails orchestrating flawless execution of events, ensuring top-notch patron experiences, and engaging artists effectively. Collaborating closely with department chairs and faculty, you'll coordinate academic events and performances for student success and help departments achieve program learning outcomes. Additionally, you'll spearhead fundraising efforts, negotiate engagements, and foster strong relationships on campus, regionally, and nationally, solidifying your role as a visionary leader in the performing arts. Summary of Responsibilities

 

• Manages finances, operations, and resources (both physical and personnel) of the School of the Arts Events and Production team and Noorda Center facility including production shops, venues, box office, rehearsal, and support spaces. Oversees the programming, scheduling, front of house, and patron experience, artist engagement, and event/production execution for all academic and professional SOA events.

• Works with department chairs and faculty to coordinate the production of academic events and performances for degree programs in the School of the Arts. Also supports and produces SOA level events as well as designated UVU events.

• In consultation with the SOA Dean, defines a programmatic vision and curates a presented season of artists on the Noorda Series. Creates and maintains a business plan for The Noorda Series that advances the strategic priorities of Utah Valley University and the School of the Arts.

• Works with the SOA Dean, SOA Director of Development, and SOA Assistant Dean of Engagement to contribute to fundraising efforts. This includes memberships, donor circles, sponsorships, and grants. Works closely with SOA Assistant Dean of Engagement to increase SOA and Noorda brand awareness, ticket sales and attendance, ticket revenue, and engagement with UVU and the community.

• Negotiates on behalf of SOA for Noorda Series and SOA-level productions or co-productions; utilizes best practices to ensure engagements are appropriate for SOA to grow its community part nerships, brand, and impact in the service region and beyond.

• Participates as a member of the SOA Dean's Staff and Dean's Leadership Council, and is a proactive advisor to the Dean's Office in matters of events, productions, shows, and community engagement. Builds strong intra-campus and community-wide elations and programming alliances that are central to the role of the Assistant Dean.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with at least a master's degree or higher in the performing arts or performing arts management. Demonstrated skills in leadership, strategic planning, financial management, and communication. Administrative experience in performing arts presenting, venue management, or production in a public, nonprofit, or commercial context. Ability to manage a large and diverse staff. Ability to work cooperatively and constructively with staff, university administration, community members, the media, and the arts community.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Visionary, dynamic leader with proven ability to manage a multi-million dollar annual operating budget. Strong experience or familiarity with arts presenting or other program management in a university community. Professional experience as a producer of academic events and/or relevant college teaching experience. Experience with commercial producing. Familiarity and working relationships with the arts community at national and international levels.
