Weber State University Adjunct Developmental Math Instructor in OGDEN, Utah

Adjunct faculty teach a maximum of eight credit hours on campus per semester,do not accrue seniority,and are employed on a semester by semester basis. Adjunct faculty are hired by the the Director of the Developmental Math Program,and they report to a full-time Developmental Math Program faculty member who serves as the lead instructor for the assigned courses.Adjunct faculty are expected to create a student-centered,positive teaching and learning environment for students consistent with the Developmental Math Program mission and goals.Specifically,adjunct faculty will:Use course texts,syllabus,exams,and curriculum materials provided by and in accordance with Program standards and guidelines.Plan and implement teaching activities and methods designed for a variety of learning styles and appropriate for developmental math students.Appropriately and effectively use class periods,maintain accurate student records for grading purposes,and professionally interact with students both within and outside the classroom.Demonstrate professional growth and development by regularly updating knowledge of both subject matter and effective teaching techniques. This can be accomplished through attendance at Program and University-sponsored workshops and through independent reading and study.Communicate with,submit requested documents and reports to,and provide appropriate feedback to the assigned Lead Instructor and/or the Program Director.Develop,maintain and promote a positive work environment among all part-time and full-time Program faculty.Adhere to University and Program policies and procedures which reflect Federal,state,and local legislation that govern the educational process.Perform other duties assigned by the Lead Instructor and/or Program Director.**This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
