Our Health and Benefits Team is seeking a Health & Benefits Manager to play a versatile role in supporting the ongoing management of our U.S. employee benefit plans. While this role will be primarily focused on health and benefit plans, there will be opportunity to support different functions within the team, including regulatory reporting, analytics, and financial operations.

Subject Matter Expertise: You have an advanced understanding of employer-provided health benefits, awareness of federal and state regulations that govern Health and Benefits programs and experience working with a variety of health systems, vendors, payers, and other industry stakeholders. Flexibility: You're seeking a role that is varied, supporting different projects and areas of the department as work cycles through the year. Process Orientation: You are skilled at creating process flows, documentation, and ultimately executing against a designated set of tasks. You can stick to deadlines and love managing projects from end to end. Collaborative: You are a team player who not only works well with others, but also looks for opportunities to share knowledge and help on projects across the team. Empathetic: You can put yourself in a stakeholder's shoes to deliver the most optimal output for all parties. You can listen to, and deeply empathize with, feedback from employees, vendors and the Health & Benefits team. Analytical Mindset: You have a demonstrated ability to use data in your decision making, and you seek out ways to leverage data to inform strategy, administration, and outcomes. Technological Proficiency: Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills are preferred. Experience with data warehouses (e.g. Optum), visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) and vendor reporting systems would be beneficial.

You Will

Manage the day-to-day operations of our health plans and vendors o Monitor vendor performance (e.g., performance guarantees, call listening) o Address administrative issues & errors, and conduct root cause analyses for continuous quality improvement o Manage employee escalations; work with employees and vendors towards resolution o Document and action feedback from employees, HR and other key stakeholders o Work with ERISA counsel to address regulatory changes and complete regulatory filings required by our health plans o Work with our consulting partners to conduct claim and program audits

Facilitate new program and vendor implementations o Lead project or vendor implementations, including developing project plans and timelines, and coordinate internal and external resources to meet project requirements and changing deadlines o Update internal collateral and vendor/process documentation with new benefits information - e.g., Summary Plan Descriptions, SBCs, plan set-up documents, benefits intranet and employee-facing guides o Manage internal vendor onboarding requirements

Support additional areas of benefits finance and operations such as: o Regulatory Compliance by participating in filings, reporting and periodic audits. Examples include 1095-Cs (ACA reporting), Form 5500s, PCORI and DCFSA non-discrimination testing o Ad hoc data analysis in support of department strategic initiatives o Financial operations and budgeting including vendor payment/invoicing process and forecasting, as needed

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Minimum 3 years of corporate employee benefits experience, either consulting or in-house; or similar experience at an industry vendor

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 80,000 and 115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
