Kohl's Sustainability & ESG Advisor in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin

The Sustainability & ESG Advisor is responsible for leading the Company’s sustainability and ESG initiatives cross functionally. This person will review industry best practices and recommend areas of improvement to senior leadership, communicate the Company’s progress on ESG initiatives with key stakeholders (through surveys, award applications, etc.) and educate internal stakeholders on ESG initiatives.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Monitor and develop company wide ESG programs and strategies

  • Monitors execution of ESG/environmental compliance programs and initiatives

  • Oversees the environmental/sustainability reports, certifications, frameworks and other reporting requirement and identifies key gap analysis areas

  • Builds relationships with vendors and service providers to strengthen ESG

  • Ensures integrity and clarity of information used in ESG programs

  • Develop and enhance strategic company Sustainability framework, inclusive of setting SBTi and Net-Zero Targets and executing next steps

Continuously improve and advocate for ESG programs

  • Drives collaboration between stakeholder teams to support the adoption of new ESG programs and projects

  • Maintains up to date knowledge of relevant regulations and advises leadership and internal partners on potential implications

  • Presents to all levels of management on ESG and initiatives

  • Identifies Corporate, Store, and distribution center needs for ESG enhancements

  • Influences and trains business partners and Associates on ESG programs and initiatives

Execute and Manage Efficient & Effective Project Management

  • Manage and oversee multiple project assignments including cross-functional project involvement

  • Influences timely and accurate results of projects

  • Advises partners with well-researched recommendations and solutions

Develop Self and Team

  • Champion strategies to improve team communication, organizational, technical, and analytical skills

  • Support the development of all direct and indirect reports

  • Communicate clear and consistency goals to the team

Drive Relationships to Enhance ESG Awareness

  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships across al l levels within organization

  • Lead ESG advisory activities across the organization

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Ability to comprehend and analyze operational processes

  • Experience communicating with various levels of management

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in environmental/sustainability functions

Preferred

  • Progressive experience in Sustainability, Environmental Regulation and Compliance for a nationwide organization with multiple locations to consumers and logistics arms.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Environmental Sciences or similar with 4-6 years of relevant audit or business experience

  • Word processing and spreadsheet software, Google apps collaboration tools, data analysis tools

  • Familiarity with EPA / DOT laws and environment

  • Retail Experience
