Responsibilities

Recreation Therapist Supervisor with CTRS certification

Full Time

Recreation Therapists create an exciting atmosphere for our patients learn and develop new skills.

Recreation Therapist Supervisor plans, organizes, and directs medically approved recreation program for hospital patients to assist patients in developing interpersonal relationships, to socialize effectively, to develop coping skills and stress management skills. The Recreation Therapist Supervisor adapts the leisure activity program content in relation to the patients’ capabilities, needs and interests. The Recreation Therapist Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining department supplies within department budget with approval of DCS. The Recreation Therapist Supervisor will assist with writing and communicating staff’s daily task and monthly schedules with DCS. The Recreation Therapist Supervisor will assist in creating, implementing, and scheduling RT programs. The Recreation Therapist Supervisor will ensures staff training and competencies are completed. The Recreation Therapist Supervisor will offer suggestions for performance evaluations and improvements and sets objectives and goals for each staff member (in consultation with DCS). The Recreation Therapist Supervisor will coordinate with third-party providers as well as developing community partnerships for enrichment programs. The Recreation Therapist Supervisor will be a co-chair for involved meetings, assisting with the agenda, preparing meeting materials and recording minutes.

About Us:

Arrowhead Behavioral Health is a 48-bed psychiatric hospital located in Maumee, Ohio. We serve adult patients 18 years of age and older that need mental health and chemical dependency services. Inpatient offerings include treatment for drug and alcohol withdrawal management and stabilization as well as mental health crisis management. Our outpatient services extend the continuum of care to include partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs which allow patients to develop and utilize proper coping mechanisms to help establish a foundation for life. Additionally, we offer a Relapse Prevention Program along with a Medication Administration Program to support patients in maintaining lifelong sobriety.

Qualifications

Education/Experience : Master’s degree in Recreation Therapy or Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy.

License/Certification : Valid CTRS certification (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Speacialist). CPI certification and CPR certification must be obtained with in 30 days of employement.

Other : Position requires the ability to work productively and independently. Must follow the security and confidentiality guidelines as well as the policies and procedures of Arrowhead Behavioral Health. Performs other duties as assigned from the Chief Executive Officer and/or his/her delegate.
