What you'll be doing: As an Assistant Controller at Stahls’ you will work in a supportive culture with other incredibly talented and intelligent people. You will also have growth opportunities as we have a culture that supports your personal and professional development.

As part of our growing and stable organization, GroupeSTAHL is looking for Assistant Controller at our Pennsylvania location. The right individual will have 1-3 years’ experience as a senior accountant. This position reports to the Regional Controller (PA) and supports two separate locations in the Masontown/Carmichaels, Pennsylvania area. This position is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days in the plant office per week.

  • Demonstrate intermediate to advanced knowledge of complex accounting concepts, analyze the financial statements, and review the account reconciliation according to GAAP.

  • Adheres to Corporate Month End and Year-End calendar and deadlines.

  • Records journal entries and other transactions

  • Review GL detail for accuracy, ensures quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.

  • Completes monthly account reconciliations and resolves reconciling items timely.

  • Provide timely data and reports, as assigned, or requested.

  • Assists in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting activities.

  • Makes recommendations that maintain and strengthen internal controls and improve efficiency of the supported organizations.

  • Maintains and creates documentation for processes specific responsibilities.

  • Backup and assist Controller and accounting department, as needed.

  • Contribute to Corporate Accounting projects and initiatives, as required.

    What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

  • 1-3 years in a Senior Accountant role.

  • CPA is a plus.

  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP.

  • Proficient in Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables.

  • ERP experience with a manufacturer, required.

  • Self-motivated and aptitude for meeting deadlines.

  • Highly analytical, with strong problem-solving ability.

  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to independently prioritize workload based on organizational needs.

  • Operates with a sense of urgency, as appropriate.
