What You Will Be Doing

The Hardware Design Engineer reports directly to the Director, Engineering and is responsible for supporting the Director in providing technical expertise and ensuring the technical integrity of the division's strategic programs. This includes designing digital circuits for systems and identifying and troubleshooting existing and developing avionic hardware applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with strategic programs, including simple/complex electronics architecture, design, implementation, and full development life cycle in airborne applications.

  • Design from conception through implementation of embedded CCAs.

  • Design SBC, I/O, communications, and other circuits.

  • Develop documentation of a given design and give technical presentations to peers/managers.

  • Experience Guidelines

What You Need for this Position

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience developing avionics, vetronics, or medical systems

  • Strong background in electronics hardware development

  • Performs microprocessor system architecture and design

  • Experience with ARM processors and SoC development for both analog and/or digital circuit boards

  • Strong communication skills (especially technical writing skills), interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence others

  • Experience working on hardware systems for high-speed digital video, high performance graphics boards, high-performance medical imaging, or high bandwidth communications is highly desirable

  • Knowledgeable of the RTCA DO-254 certification framework is highly desirable
