Summary: Onix seeks an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer/Architect who will be key in designing and implementing DevOps and SRE solutions that meet client business needs and support the overall cloud infrastructure and data architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SRE frameworks, CI/CD best practices and implementation, DevOps principles, and experience with software pipeline development and deployment. The candidate will have experience in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP. Location: Remote - US Scope/Level of Decision-Making: This exempt position operates under limited decision-making and supervision. Position performs various assigned activities, referring more complex issues to the manager. Primary Responsibilities: Provide thought leadership and technical expertise with clients, understand their business objectives, and tailor DevOps solutions to meet their unique requirements. Conduct comprehensive assessments of the client's existing development and operations processes, identifying areas for improvement and developing a customized DevOps roadmap. Collaborate with clients to design and architect DevOps solutions, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IAC), and automation strategies. Implement and configure DevOps tools and technologies, such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms, to improve the client's software delivery pipeline. Monitor the client's DevOps infrastructure, identify optimization areas, and make improvement recommendations. Act as a technical resource to resolve issues and address challenges that may arise during the implementation and maintenance phases. Create and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and best practices for internal and client use. Ensure quality, integrity, and governance standards are met throughout the engineering lifecycle. Lead the design and build of reusable, repeatable solutions and components for future use. Lead and mentor a team of engineers to implement your solution designs. Qualifications & Skills . Preferred, 5+ years or more consulting experience working with external clients across a variety of industry markets Extensive experience as a DevOps engineer with a proven track record of successful implementation of production solutions on cloud platforms, preferably AWS and Google Cloud Deep knowledge and expertise in Amazon Web Services and its components, such as AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, Apache Airflow, and related data technologies such as dbt and Databricks. Strong expertise in DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD, containerization, and orchestration Ability to design, code, and deploy CI/CD pipelines using both Cloud Native services and third-party tools. Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure with Terraform & Cloud Formation Understanding of data warehouse architecture in a cloud-based data environment that integrates with an overall data architecture Experience with Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, ELK, and deploying applications on AWS Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, Javascript/Typescript, TerraForm, Scala, SQL, or others and experience with related libraries and frameworks.
