Description

The Arc Mid-Hudson has a full-time opportunity available for an Electronic Health Records (EHR) Manager, who will be responsible for overall operation and support of the agency’s EHR systems, ensuring that we implement best practice solutions and optimize use of the software to allow for accuracy, completeness, security and compliance with applicable regulations and agency policies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assesses agency documentation needs and workflows to adapt EHR software to mee the needs, and recommends changes to workflows to make the most effective use of the EHR system capabilities.

  • Ensures compliance with all agency policies & procedures and county, state and federal regulations (including HIPPA) as they relate to the position and the information stored in the EHR.

  • Ensures only authorized staff have access to the EHR and the data stored in this system.

  • Provides leadership and direct supervision to employees in the EHR team.

  • Collaborates with all departments to ensure acceptance and correct use of electronic health records specific to their department’s needs.

  • Works with other IT staff to monitor EHR integrations with other internal and external software and reporting systems.

  • Assists the Data Analytics team in understanding the data and reporting needs of agency departments and serves as a resource as they develop reports and business intelligence systems.

  • Exercises independent judgment to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Delegates work appropriately within the EHR team and ensures team productivity and results.

  • Offers support to internal, external audit and survey teams, providing reports and data as needed.

  • Assists in hiring, training, mentoring and supervising EHR team staff. Provides coaching and disciplinary action when needed.

    SCHEDULE: 40/Monday through Friday/day hours; must be flexible, as evenings and/or weekend hours may be required at times, based on program needs

    SALARY: $ 58,500 to $ 68,152 per year

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate’s degree and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the field of developmental disabilities or a related field including supervisory experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of EHR systems and of the operations and programs of a human services agency. Experience with work in programs regulated by OPWDD preferred.

  • Strong computer skills, including but not limited to the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Learning Management Systems (Relias).

  • Effective customer service skills, good interpersonal skills to interact with employees, program participants, families, and outside organizations.

  • Detail oriented including strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to establish training guidelines, organize training materials, and assist users with accessing EHR in order to complete necessary trainings.

  • Ability to adhere to schedules/deadlines, and to complete assignments in a timely manner.

  • Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work non-traditional hours including weekends or evenings, as needed to meet program/ participant needs.

  • Must be willing to travel locally to other agency locations.
