BDO USA LLP Systems Engineer in Kentwood, Michigan

Job Summary: The Systems Engineer is responsible for installing, tuning, managing and monitoring of all Windows servers, Microsoft Active Directory, and their related subsystems. Job Duties: Monitors and maintains servers and possibly storage systems Analyzes and troubleshoots system issues Performs and coordinates server replacements and server builds Monitors, manages and maintains Active Directory Assists with, and may lead, setting assigned technology strategies of the firm Acts as a technical resource for the Project Management Office Completes and upgrades system documentation Other duties as required Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education: High School diploma / GED, required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, preferred Experience: Four (4) or more years of experience managing multiple (50+) systems, preferred Four (4) or more years of experience with HP ProLiant servers such as DL380, HP Blade chassis, preferred Three (3) or more years of experience with leading projects, preferred Prior experience with SAN / NAS storage, preferred Prior experience with VMware ESXi, preferred License/Certifications: Microsoft MCSA / MCSE certification, preferred Software: Prior experience managing and maintaining modern Microsoft Windows Servers, required Prior experience or knowledge of VMWare ESXi/VSphere, preferred Prior experience or knowledge of Citrix XenApp, preferred Prior experience or knowledge of Linux (RedHat), preferred Language: N/A Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills Capacity to work in a deadline-driven environment while handle multiple complex projects/tasks simultaneously with a focus on details Capable of successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment Ability to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Capable of working well under pressure while dealing with unexpected problems in a professional manner Capacity to communicate and interact with all levels of employees and management Ability to interact and build consensus among people Ability to work after standard business hours and travel (up to 25%)
