UNIVERSITY OF NEB KEARNEY Building Automation and Controls Lead in Kearney, Nebraska

Job Description:

  • Working and operating knowledge of Building Automated System (BMS), preferably Metasys
  • Will plan, select, and lay out required materials for service and repair work.
  • Perform routine daily inspections of all control systems at the University to include Climate control, Fire Alarms and elevator and door access controls.
  • Troubleshoot and repair control system alarms
  • Setup schedule and adjust control points for controls with limited supervision
  • Perform bench and field repair of control systems throughout the University
  • Plan workload with limited supervision
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Electrical wiring/devices, motor overhauls and maintenance/troubleshooting of controls and other automated equipment and monitoring devices.
  • Enthusiastically represents the organization by displaying a positive attitude, maintaining a high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job.
  • Utilize the necessary tools required by this position including but not limited to: Multimeter, basic hand tools, drill motors, saws, and other devices.
  • Retrieve or develop trend logs and analyze any anomalies
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude and be able to use hand and power tools
  • Able to read blueprints and electrical drawings
  • Utilize LOTO for maintenance on equipment as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by your supervisor/manager
  • Monitors building automation system (Metasys) for system alarms and unsatisfactory conditions, provides initial troubleshooting of issues identified from system alarms, calls or other sources. Review trend logs and analyze for anomalies
  • Support testing, repair and troubleshooting of Siemens fire alarms
  • Support locksmiths for door access controls
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent 5 years controls experience working with controls for AHUs, chiller plants, complex fan systems, HVAC controls, fire alarms, door access and elevator controls. Ability to effectively communicate progress, status and great customer service Valid Nebraska drivers license

Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree in related technical field, electronics and or networking Experience working with Metasys, Cbord, Siemens fire alarms
