MKS Instruments Inc Senior Technical Project Manager in Irvine, California

Spectra-Physics, Ophir, Newport and ESI are brands within the MKS Instruments Photonics Solutions division. We provide a full range of solutions including lasers for precision industrial and scientific research applications, laser and LED measurement, beam profiling, precision motion control, optical tables and vibration isolation systems, photonics instruments, temperature sensing, opto-mechanical components, optical elements, and systems for flexible PCB laser processing, high-speed MLCC testing, and CO2-laser-based systems HDI PCB and IC substrate manufacturing. MKS Photonics Solutions enhance our customers’ capabilities and productivity in the semiconductor, advanced electronics and specialty industrial markets.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

We are seeking a Sr. Technical Project Manager who will lead the management and execution of cross-functional projects through the product development process, including developing project goals that support the business unit objectives and developing and executing strategies and plans to meet the goals.

This is a hybrid opportunity with an average of 3 days per week working on-site in our Irvine, CA office, and 2 days per week working remotely.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Delivering strategic NPI semiconductor capital equipment programs/projects against scope, schedule, cost, resources and quality

  • Implementing standard PM methodology, processes, practices and governance and escalation

  • Utilizing and leveraging corporate PDP program management system to provide program visibility and transparency to management, internal and external stakeholders, and executives to enable data driven decision making

  • Creating and managing the project master schedule and plan throughout the product development process

    Skills You Bring:

  • 10+ years experience as technical project/program manager

  • Technical expertise in semiconductor capital equipment, system or modules new product introduction, laser or optics technology or equivalent. Technical degree required, optics preferred

  • Program Management certification (PMI, IPMA, etc.) or equivalent, preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse and global dispersed teams and manage multidisciplinary tasks

  • Expert at schedule planning and development, resource allocation and critical path analysis

  • Strong leader with ability to resolve conflicts and simultaneously team build

  • Ability to complete administrative details while maintaining larger vision of program

  • Entrepreneurial and creative approach to problem resolution, but process follower

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as necessary to support business goals. Travel estimated at an average of 10%

    Salary Pay Range: $121,100 to 224,900 per year. This range is a good faith esti mate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.  At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

    Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
