The Chief Operating Office directs and coordinates the activities of the organizations home and community-based service lines: including administering organization policies, develop and execute the strategic direction of the Company and lead a diverse team of professionals to achieve mutually agreed upon goals.

The Anew Care service lines are defined as home health, hospice, and palliative.

Essential Position Functions

  • Establishes operational standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality care, and safety as it relates to ongoing day-to-day operations.
  • Directs implementation and execution of operational policies, strategies and practices throughout the Ensuring the accuracy of public information materials and activities.
  • Recommends and implements strategic changes in home and community-based services.
  • Builds, develops, and manages operational leadership team capable of carrying out the needed operational strategies and improving personnel relations. Ensuring adequate personnel education and evaluations.
  • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships. Maintains an ongoing liaison with the governing body and personnel. Confers routinely with the President to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
  • Oversees operational budgets to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements and accounting.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) accreditation guidelines.
  • Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing long-term goals and objectives. Including the development of the organizations plans and programs, particularly from the short- and long-term strategic initiatives as they relate to expansion activity.
  • Serves as a member of the governing body, and upon request, management committees for special projects or studies.
  • Translates the strategic and tactical business plans into operational plans.
  • Establishes credibility throughout the organization with management and the personnel in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of personnel issues.
  • Continues improving the programs, policies, practices, and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational personnel issues of the organization. Plus, the assurance that the agency employs qualified personnel, including the development of personnel qualifications and policies, while ensuring that the administrators or pre-designated person are available during all operating hours.
  • Evaluates the operational structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with an emphasis on opportunities for individuals.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Postgraduate degree preferred
  • Must have a valid Indiana Operators License
  • Must have current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding home and community-based
  • Licensed physician, a Registered Nurse, or holds an undergraduate degree; and
  • Has experience in health service administration, with at least five years of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or a related healthcare program.
  • Qualified administrator appointed by and reporting to the governing body, possessing the education and experience required by the governing body.
