RMC is hiring a Technical Writer to support our customer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Indian Head command. The selected applicant will assist with technical writing, technical editing, and quality control for various types of command documentation. The selected applicant will be expected to:

• Prepare and/or provide editorial and quality assurance for various publications, identification guides, preliminary manuals, specifications, technical reports, training materials, and other technical documentation in accordance with applicable government specifications.

• Ensure that technical and visual information (graphics, tables, videos, thumbnails, and super thumbnails) adhere and conform to established writing, editing, and formatting standards.

• Coordinate and communicate frequently with various Subject Matter Experts.

• Conduct independent research using various databases, websites, and repositories.

• Create, maintain, and update bibliographic material.

• Collaborate with colleagues and fellow technical writers to ensure consistency through the teams.

• Provide additional input and draft proposed changes or recommendations to improving writing standards.

Requirements

• An associate degree in a technical, writing, or other related discipline. Additional years of work experience may be substituted for a degree. At least one (1) year of technical writing/editing experience required.

• An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start. Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

• The selected candidate must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision or guidance from Subject Matter Experts.

RMC employees may be subject to COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements in order to access government facilities.
