We have an exciting opportunity for a Controls and Automation Engineer to join the team with JETS II Teammate Company, Nexus Solutions.

The Controls and Automation Engineer will:

  • Develop the next generation Data Acquisition, Recording and Controls system for the Crew and Thermal Systems Division

  • Troubleshoot and maintain existing Thermal/ Vacuum Chamber measurement and instrumentation systems

  • Create and upgrade HMI screens and program/modify PLCs

  • Integrate Data Acquisition systems into SCADA platform

  • Perform system checkouts, procurements, instrument calibration, testing/maintenance activities and documentation

  • Perform other duties as required

    Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area.

  • Computer programming experience

  • Experience with SQL database

  • Understanding of electrical drawings and procedures for instrumentation systems

  • Experience with data acquisition systems and their application

  • Experience with instrument specification and calibration procedures

  • Proficiency using computers

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

    Requisition Preferences:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics or control engineering from an accredited engineering school with five (5) years of related engineering experience

  • Familiarity with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures

  • Expertise in SCADA systems (eg ICONICS, Ignition), SQL Server

  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and programming software​
