Eaton Corporation Senior Power Electronic Controls Engineer - Aerospace in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Eaton’s AER Aerospace Group division is currently seeking a Senior Power Electronic Controls Engineer - Aerospace.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $85500.0 - $125400.0 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Electronic Hardware Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage electronic hardware requirements. Develop robust circuit architectures, ensuring compliance with performance and environmental standards.

  • Circuit Modeling and Analysis: Utilize your expertise to perform detailed circuit modeling and analysis. Optimize designs for efficiency, reliability, and manufacturability.

  • Prototype Development: Bring your ideas to life by building and testing prototype electronic circuits. Work closely with our R&D team to iterate and refine designs.

  • Test Case Development: Create requirement-based test cases and procedures. Ensure thorough testing of electronic components and systems.

  • Formal Circuit Verification: Conduct formal circuit performance verification. Troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing.

  • Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of emerging electronic technologies. Recommend and evaluate new designs to enhance product performance.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, electrical, software, firmware, test, and specialty engineers to develop cutting-edge products.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of power electronics, analog and/or motor control engineering experience.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Relocation is offered for this role for candidates residing within the United States and/or Puerto Rico.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within the Aerospace industry.

  • Circuit design experience.

  • Electronic circuit design and verification experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with suppliers and offshore resources are essential.

  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with functions and organizations outside of Engineering.

Additional Information:

  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
