AutoNation Headquarters Position Summary This position is a great way to join the AutoNation Finance Team while getting exposure to AutoNation Operations. This role requires being a creative self-starter with solid accounting or finance experience and enthusiasm to learn. The Retirement Financial Analyst will assist with the daily responsibilities of the review, analysis, and reconciliation of 401(k) Plan and executive Deferred Compensation Plan (DCP) participant accounts. The Analyst will also assist with reporting and legal requirements under the Affordable Care Act and will assist with the reconciliation and administration of the Health Savings Account (HSA). The analyst will also assist with the implementation of a new HRIS system. Organizational Relationships Coordination with third-party administrators and record keepers; collaboration with Benefits and Payroll departments’ personnel, interaction with Company controllers, and partnership with Company accounting staff and external auditors; Collaboration with Corporate Systems team to advance usage of the data across the department. Job Responsibilities Develop queries to analyze data based on department requirements, creating efficiencies using Excel and data analytic techniques. Analyze and identify data discrepancies within the database. Create models to evaluate the effect of changes to Benefits Strategies based on multiple variables. Effectively communicate results of models and ad hoc analyses to management. Coordinate with the retirement plans’ record keepers and the Payroll Department to reconcile contributions and to review and approve funding of the 401(k) Plan, DCP and HSA. Assess reconciling items for systemic and processing issues and correct through coordination with the payroll vendor, Payroll Department and record keeper. Review and reconcile the Company match of employee contributions and HSA Company seed. Evaluate the monthly reconciliation of retirement plans’ account balances and intercompany charges for appropriate data corrections. Participate in testing the new HRIS system. Test DCP distributions and balance projections, and coordinate payment with the Payroll Department. Monitor record keeper data file interfaces and analyze data issues for systemic errors. Support the review of the Form 5000, annual audits, and related filings with corporate accounting personnel. Become a subject matter expert on the Company’s retirement plans and interact with participants to answer their inquiries. Assist with the monitoring and review of legal notices related to the Affordable Care Act in order to predict the related liability. Support Benefit’s Department special projects via financial analysis, exploratory analysis, and event planning. Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company’s Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with employees, co-workers and vendors and adhere to all Company policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, data analytics, finance, or business administration. Strong critical and analytical thinking skills and interest in detail-oriented work. Two years of work experience, preferably in a corporate environment or advanced degree. Self-motivated, independent, and creative performer. Project-oriented individual who enjoys managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated interpersonal written and oral communication skills. Advanced MS Excel experience...
