Summary of Position

 

This position will provide administrative support to the Human Resources Director on all personnel matters. They will perform professional level human resources work and carry out responsibilities in all areas of HR -- recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and training.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Assists with recruits, researches, interviews, screens, and refers job candidates for job openings by performing the following duties.
  • Initiates contact with possibly qualified candidates for specific job openings
  • Assist with writing job descriptions or reviews and edits job descriptions written by others
  • Develops and maintains network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates
  • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Assists with performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Assists with company benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
  • Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate
  • May conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
  • Evaluates human relations and work-related problems and meets with supervisors and managers to determine effective remediation techniques, such as job skill training or personal intervention, to resolve human relations issues among personnel.
  • Assists develops and conducts training to instruct organization managers, supervisors, and workers in human relations skills such as supervisory skills, conflict resolution skills, interpersonal communication skills, and effective group interaction skills.

     

Required Qualifications

 

High School Diploma, Associates or bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent Human Resources experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Five years' experience in Human Resources

Strong time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines
