NJ Employer Farmworker in Farmingdale, New Jersey

Anticipated period of employment: 03/18/2024 to 11/10/2024.

All applicants must have 1 months experience hand harvesting a perishable crop. Applicants must be able to furnish affirmative job references from recent employers.

Workers are required to work both inside structures & outside in various weather elements. May work with bedding plants, shrubs, small trees. Duties for plants include propagating, working on potting line, filing cold frames or hot beds, transplanting products to prepared areas, re-potting into large containers. Shrubs and small trees are transplanted as needed to promote growth and harvested when applicable. Will wrap harvested bare root trees with burlap. Sod must be kept watered, fertilized,& mowed, cut into presized pieces & stacked on pallets or baled when harvested. Care of horticultural products includes weeding, pruning, mulching, raking, irrigating, fertilizing, & other media growth activities. Products must be tied, bunched, wrapped, priced, & tagged in preparation for market. Will pack products to fill orders and maintain stock in storage areas. Provide adequate soil moisture throughout the growing season to help fast-growing plants establish strong roots and produce fruit. Additional crops pumpkins and vegetables. Only workers meeting all qualifications on the job order should be referred by the Job Service Office. Once the applicant has a copy of the job contract they may call or email the employer to schedule an interview Monday- Friday from 8am to 5pm.
