HDR is currently seeking a Controls Engineer to join our fast growing Building Engineering Services group in Denver. Primary Responsibilities In the role of Controls Engineer, we'll count on you to: Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures Coordinate workload through design development and construction document phases to complete documents on schedule Conduct systems integration of the I&C system, including programming of PLCs/PCs and HMI customizing for various control software programs Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines Write and edit I&C specifications, and select equipment and monitoring/control devices Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this position Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed Provide construction contract administration as needed Perform other duties as needed Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Electrical, Electrical Engineering or closely related field PE required Minimum of 5 years applicable experience PLC/WTP and WWTP software programming experience Hands-on experience designing I and C Systems, including schematics and loops Experience managing controls projects Knowledge of Modicon, Wonderware and Interlution Proficiency with Microsoft Office products An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must Preferred Qualifications Previous work experience with an A&E/Consulting Engineering firm Why HDR At HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for it's also about what you do and how you do it.
