Prairie Ridge Health Clinic CMA/Scribe/LPN/RN - Dermatology 0.9 FTE in Columbus, Wisconsin

Prairie Ridge Health is looking for a team member to join our Clinic in the role of CMA&Scribe/LPN/RN. This is a position of growth to support our new Dermatology provider.  This position is a 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week). 

POSITION SUMMARY CMA/Scribe:  When functioning as a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant, the medical assistant will work under the direction of the physician or other designated licensed staff, provides routine patient care in an ambulatory setting.  The medical assistant is able to work as part of a team and perform both clinical and administrative duties.  Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, obtaining preliminary visit information, preparing patients for examination/procedure, sterilization of medical instruments and administering medications as directed by provider or designee.  The medical assistant will work at the clinic location that the Provider is scheduled to work at for the day. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records and filling out insurance forms/paperwork.   

When functioning as a scribe, the Clinic medical assistant - Scribe is responsible for transcribing in real time medical dictated legal information for inclusion in the electronic health record for selected patients. This allows for the time the physician spent with the patient to be efficient and effective. The Clinic Scribe will work at the clinic location that the Provider is scheduled to work at for the day and attend selected patient appointments with the provider.

POSITION SUMMARY LPN:  The LPN performs as a professional nurse in the area of patient care and education. The LPN provides nursing care for adults, pediatrics, infants, adolescents, and elderly through physical, psychological and social assessments and communicates the findings to the RN, physician and/or mid-level provider.  The LPN manages, organizes, and provides direct patient care incorporating clinical decision-making, facilitating the next steps in the patient’s plan of care, and prioritization of activities. The LPN will work at the clinic location that the Provider is scheduled to work at for the day

POSITION SUMMARY RN: The RN is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the patient care team.  The RN provides nursing care for adults, pediatrics, infants, adolescents, and elderly through physical, psychological and social assessments and then formulates a nursing diagnosis, and communicates findings to the physician and/or mid-level provider.  The RN manages, organizes, and provides direct patient care incorporating clinical decision-making, facilitating the next steps in the patient’s plan of care, and prioritization of activities. Education of patient’s family and other health care team members is provided by the RN, incorporating health maintenance and disease process. The RN will work at the clinic location that the Provider is scheduled to work at for the day.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Certified or registered through an accredited program.

  • Intermediate word processing proficiency required and familiarity with of medical terminology. 

  • BLS certification required or achieved within 60 days of hire

    OR

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical or Vocational Nursing Program

  • Valid nursing license as recognized by the state of Wisconsin.

  • Current CPR

  • A minimum of one-two years of experience on preferred

    OR

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Baccalaureate degree preferred

  • Valid nursing license as recognized by state of Wisconsin.

  • Current CPR

  • Relevant clinical experience preferred. 

Shift: M-F days

FTE: 0.9 (36 hours a week)
