JPMorgan Chase Lead Data Scientist - Vice President - Wealth Management in Columbus, Ohio

As a Data Science Lead, Vice President, you will be part of the Data & Analytics team that is the engine that powers us with insights to create competitive advantages for our business, and delivers value for our customers. We have unified data and analytics talent across the firm and encompass a variety of disciplines including data science, reporting, quantitative analytics, and data governance. Within this organization, the Decision Sciences team leverages industry-leading data-driven techniques to convert data into meaningful insights that enable the firm to drive value and an outstanding customer experience.

The wealth management industry is rapidly changing and we are transforming our U.S. wealth management business to accelerate growth. We are looking for a talented Vice President to help inform our lead and referral strategies across the US Wealth Management (USWM) business unit that includes JP Morgan Personal Advisors, Chase Wealth Management, JP Morgan Advisors, and Online Investing digital platforms. Reporting to the USWM Leads Sciences Manager, this role will be central in building a scalable, sustainable data driven process that delivers acquisition and deepening opportunities to enable growth within our branch-based and independent advisors' books of business.

This is a vital hands-on role for exceptionally creative, ambitious, \"data curious\" thinkers who can help extract true business value from data.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with key executives to establish a roadmap for enhancing the capabilities of our leads platform through identifying opportunities to improve the volume, variety, and quality of leads

  • Lead ideation and execution sessions with product teams, channel owners, practice management and client experience leaders to identify opportunities to enable timely, relevant conversations between Advisors and customers that drive new accounts or assets

  • Analyze the full leads funnel to diagnose friction points and identify opportunities to increase conversion

  • Develop an approach to prioritize leads for triage and advisors based on value of the individual opportunity, urgency of the conversation, and client engagement patterns

  • Provide expertise as to how big data, machine learning, or business intelligence can be leveraged to understand different client / prospect personas propensity for opening new accounts

  • Leverage knowledge of our current and future analytic needs to partner with Technology and Data Management to develop a roadmap for launching new customer data assets

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Have a unique combination of technical skills, mathematical know-how, storytelling, and intuition to understand what is happening to data from inception to analytical output to business decision

  • Obsess over all things data, including volume, variety, veracity, velocity, and visualization; you can efficiently manipulate data from disparate sources using Alteryx and other ETL tools and have a keen eye towards automation

  • Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in your problem solving - you geek out about developing an elegant solution versus just solving a problem via brute force

  • Have experience as a practicing data analyst in a field-based sales environment with demonstrated success delivering insights to CRM systems such as Salesforce

  • Think R is more than a letter, PYTHON is more than a snake, and Java is more than an island or coffee bean; you have querying and programming skills and are curious to learn new tools and techniques; are proficient with Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g. Tableau, Shiny Dashboards)

  • Perform exploratory data analysis across large enterprise databases (Terabytes) to transform data within sophisticated data warehouse tools (e.g. SQL, Snowflake)

  • Have a strong presence, excellent presentation skills (both written and verbal), and low ego with the ability to deliver recommendations to multiple stakeholders and influence senior management

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Previously worked in a workforce analytics, sales performance analytics, or sales science organization

  • Are proficient in agile tools and programming tools such as PYTHON

  • Are trained in statistical principles including experimental design and analysis of variance, probability theory, and sampling theory; additional points if you have an advanced degree in Statistics or a related discipline

  • Have conducted advanced modeling (AI/ML) including supervised/unsupervised learning models, regression analysis, classification, and clustering

  • Have a strong grasp of big data disciplines, Agile (scrum) methodologies, and new technologies

  • Are a lifelong learner and hold a growth mindset; we welcome individuals who geek out on industry podcasts, stay abreast of cutting edge techniques, or participate in KDD and Kaggle competitions for "fun" and love to share what they are learning with the rest of the team
