Environmental Project Manager
POWER Engineers, Inc. is a rapidly growing company with a clear vision of how we want to grow. We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Project Manager for full-time employment in support of our Midwest Environmental Services Project Management and Planning Department. This position reports to our Columbus, Ohio office offering the ability to work in a hybrid setting, office/home.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The primary focus for this Environmental Project Manager will be routing and siting transmission lines and substations in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic states. Other responsibilities would include knowledge and experience with environmental permitting. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and responsive professional, with strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams which could include engineers, siting and routing specialists, planners, and permitting and environmental specialists
Preparing and monitoring project scope, schedule, and budget
Providing advice on natural resource state and local permitting
Performing routing/siting studies and analyses and preparing associated reports
Preparation of Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) applications
Up to 10% travel is expected
Required Education/Experience:
B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, or related degree
Eight (8) + years managing environmental projects (planning/natural resources)
Extensive knowledge and demonstrated expertise in federal and state environmental policy and regulation is required
Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational and multi-tasking ability, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with clients and project staff
Desired Education/Experience:
Midwest and Mid-Atlantic expertise in siting/routing, environmental planning, and analysis, state siting applications, technical writing in electric transmission lines and substations
Experience preparing applications for submittal to the Virginia State Corporate Commission (SCC), Kentucky Public Utilities Commission (PUC), and Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) is highly desirable
