Cleaning Technologies Group Controls Engineering Manager in Cincinnati, Ohio

Summary:

Plans, organizes, and supervises controls engineer and electrical designer activities to meet project, department, and company objectives. Responsible for on time and on budget performance of the controls engineering team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS to PERFORM DUTIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a wide range of functional areas such as mechanical engineering, sales, aftermarket sales, manufacturing, and service.

• Assist in forecasting and scheduling of projects and manpower.

• Collaborate w/ Project Managers to plan and schedule controls portion of project assignments, timing, and budgets with Director of Engineering approval.

• Responsible for providing employee leadership, training & development, performance reviews, hiring, counseling and/or termination of employment of direct reports with Director of Engineering approval.

• Help drive completion of standards across various machine types.

• Provide employee development, coaching, and leadership of team members.

• Responsible for project budget compliance and schedule adherence.

• Give support/guidance to teams in the field who are handling field retrofits or new machine installations.

• Support the Company’s Quality Program objectives.

• Maintain relationships with outside partners/vendors for control panel build, electrical and programming support or other.

• Other functions as directed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct to controls and controls engineering team.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 5 to 7 years capital equipment industry related supervisory experience. Experience with Siemens and/or AB controls with AutoCAD electrical a plus. Must have good Microsoft products experience. Prefer knowledge and experience with 8D problem solving.

Language Skills:

Must be able to communicate verbally and/or in writing with other employees, other departments, supervision, customers, and management. Must have above average ability to express oneself in written and verbal form. Must be able to present information to groups of employees, customers, and vendors.

Mathematical Skills:

Must be able to perform advanced level mathematics reasoning (algebraic formulas, trigonometry, and strength of materials for example), as well as use calculations consistent with the electrical design of equipment.

Reasoning Ability:

Be able to identify work process problems and possible solutions.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

Maintain local, regional and/or national membership in appropriate professional organizations /associations.

Physical Demands:

Sit at workstation for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to adjust visual focus. May be required to reach, stoop and/or bend on an as needed basis. Must be able to climb stairs as necessary.

Work Environment:

Traditional office atmosphere. Temperature standard. Quiet noise level. Will be required to periodically work in a factory environment.

Travel:

Less than 10% travel could be required.
