Seeking a part-time organized, detailed oriented, pragmatic, and collaborative dental hygienist to join the Community Health team based in our Wexford County Office.

* *General Responsibilities

• Under general supervision and assignment of a dentist, delivers preventive oral health care and early treatment of dental disease to eligible children in schools and the community including but not limited to dental assessments, fluoride and sealant applications, and oral health education with cultural competence and sensitivity.
• Assists in development coordination and delivery of oral health literacy programs.
• Manages data entry, client care, follow up, and assists in reporting.

• Assists in setup, breakdown, and maintenance of dental equipment per safety protocols.

   

Minimum Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited dental hygiene school.
• Current dental hygiene license to practice in the State of Michigan.
• Ability to perform all dental hygienist job responsibilities consistent with accepted professional practices and standards, in compliance with applicable state and federal law.
• Knowledge of the compliance aspects of clinical care, patient privacy and best practices for oral health. 
• Communication skills necessary to interact appropriately with students, parents, school staff, co-workers, and the public.
• Basic understanding of computer software applications, including charting in an electronic medical record.
