Coding Auditor, 33 Lewis Rd United Health Services is seeking a Coding Auditor to join our Coding Support Svcs department at 33 Lewis Rd in Binghamton, NY. This position is benefits eligible.

Salary range:

$26.13 - $40.53 per hour, depending on experience.

Overview

Perform internal coding and documentation audits. Research, analyze, and respond to inquiries regarding coding and documentation compliance in accordance with all coding guidelines and Medicare/Medicaid regulations. Assist with coding, documentation, and billing questions to ensure compliant coding and billing. Develop final audit reports based on findings/observations during the audit process to present to providers or other appropriate staff members. Help identify areas for audit opportunities based on industry performance, regulatory focus areas and risk areas within the organization.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

  • Associates Degree , HIT preferred

  • One year of coding experience

Preferred:

  • RHIA certification with a Bachelor's degree in HIT.

  • 5 years auditing experience in the health care field.

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

  • RHIT, CPC, CCS-P, CCS, or CCA certification

Preferred:

  • See information above; level of education/experience is tied to certification.
