The WHS function is part of the Operation team and supports our Amazon associates worldwide who are responsible for controlling the vast range of ways we serve customers. Here at Amazon we seek an experienced safety professional to join the WHS Governance team and play a critical role in supporting Amazon’s WHS Audit program. This health and safety Audit Program Manager will support continuous improvement of the company's safety management systems and compliance with safety regulations.

This job requires a minimum 30% travel in the United States and Canada; 10% travel globally if requested.

Support Global WHS Audits strategic delivery by:

supporting the scope, team leadership and implementation of WHS Audits.

supporting the continuous improvement and expansion of the audit program including training and peer audit strategic initiatives.

recommend and support a plan for internal audit execution.

gathers, interprets, and uses complex data to develop actionable steps that will improve processes and optimize results. Assess company and customer obsession needs, receives robust information, and analyzes it, providing trends and network areas for improvement.

collaborate with globally approved third party WHS auditors, work to finalize and update SOW. Manage audit budget for global audit programs.

participate in audits, lead audits and coach internal auditors where needed.

recommend new WHS strategies/programs/technology that are relevant to audit and/or enhance existing strategy and lead from concept to delivery. Support the adoption of WHS strategy, and influence change across stakeholders via audits.

stay attuned to changing regulations and internal WHS performance to recommend changes to audit plans when required.

perform global trending of audit reports to identify common issues. Work with operations WHS partners and early intervention teams to recommend changes that address deficiencies.

The successful candidate will develop and implement audit strategies, programs and protocols to support the global audit program. The Candidate will conduct audits, assess risks and recommend measures to enhance existing safety management systems. The individual will work with relevant stakeholders to address systematic and repeated compliance gaps, and support the adoption of WHS strategies, and influence change across regional stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
